ROFL, look at these posts! Why do self thought rambo’s watch a vid on how to make a shelter if they already know how?

I guess you are supposed to make a shelter out of the leaves you wipe your ass with eh?

In the colder months you want to keep the hammock as low to the ground as possible to prevent as much air flow as possible. Another great idea I have tried instead of the thermarest is roll up 3 large industrial garbage bags and pack it in with your other gear. When its time to set it up fill the bags with dead brush and set them up as a matress in the hammock. It kept me warmer than a thermarest and took up way less space in my pack.

My experience is, hammocks leave a lot of air flow underneath. If you don’t have some wool blankets or a heavy sleeping bag, even in summer, prepare to get cold.

Very cool. This would not be my preferred method but if you want to go ultra-light and you are through camping and just need a place to sleep and stay dry under tree canopy it would be very cool indeed.
